Disability Awareness Open House, at the McDowell Center in Louisville Ky.

To celebrate Disability Awareness month, the Office for the Blind is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, October 23 from 10:00 to 3:00 at the McDowell Center, 8412 Westport Road in Louisville. Folks will have a chance to try out a variety of Assistive Technology devices. We'll have a display of white canes and products to enhance independent living for people to examine. Come learn more about Braille. Find out about the bioptic driving program. Talk to a Low Vision Specialist. Meet guide dog handlers and their guide dogs.

  Tours of the McDowell Center will be given. An abundance of free information on a wide variety of topics will be available. We'll have snacks, beverages, and door prizes.
