Funding assistance for the 2013 NFB AnnualConvention

Dear Fellow Federationists,

If you are a member of the National Federation of the Blind who has always wanted to go to national convention, but have not had enough money to manage it, you may apply for supplemental funds from the Kenneth Jernigan Convention Scholarship Fund. The average scholarship is $400 or $500 so it won’t pay for everything, but it will help pay for the three big ticket items: a plane ticket, a room for a week at our convention rates (especially low cost if you share the room with other Federationists), and the cost of food for a week.  To apply, write a letter addressed to the committee or to me, Allen Harris, but send it by email to your own affiliate president. Your state president will add the president’s letter and send both letters on to the committee.  Read the article I wrote to see what the committee wants to know and to understand how this works. My article is in every “Braille Monitor: issue since January 2013, or follow this link:
https://nfb.org/images/nfb/publications/bm/bm13/bm1301/bm130115.htm. Deadline: The application period ends April 15, 2013.

Cordially,
Allen Harris, Chairperson
Kenneth Jernigan Scholarship Fund Committee
